At Taylor Ashwell we believe in capturing your authentic connections that will resonate with you and future generations to come. Taylor was first inspired by capturing the beauty of the natural world while backpacking all over the United States. From thru hiking the 2200 mile Appalachian Trail, to traversing the high alpine of the Colorado trail, to trekking in Nepal to see the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest - Taylor has a deeply adventurous and soulful spirit and strives to capture moments that make you feel deeply connected to who you are and that will resonate with your soul.
After her grandfather passed away in 2021, Taylor and her family found boxes and boxes of family film photos from her great, great grandparents and beyond tucked away in the nooks and crannies of the Boone family farmhouse outside of Roanoke, Virginia. Images spanning throughout previous generations of loved ones and their dedication to constructing the family farmhouse in 1875. These timeless discoveries on film gave Taylor a deeper sense of connection to who she was and she began documenting people in portraits, so they too can pass down the memories of their legacy to future generations of their loved ones.
Taylor loves to blend her deep love for the mountains and natural world with her passion for capturing the beauty of loving connections, and has extensive familiarity with stunning mountain locations for photo sessions. Taylor Ashwell Photography strives to capture the true essence of who you are and the love you share with the people around you, and is available for a variety of different kinds of portrait sessions. Taylor is passionate about protecting the environment and the mountains she loves and adheres to Leave No Trace principles when documenting portraits in outdoor public spaces
